Gameday 10 - Krajina...

GFC's latest foe came in the form of the very charming Krajina crew. You may remember them as being only slightly miffed at a late penalty call the last time we locked horns. Said penal was converted by the now vacationing El Capitano, Ang Giglia, and their coach proceeded to blow a gasket. Like I said, charming.

That match ended 1-1. So it's without any doubt they a) remember fondly that fine afternoon at Sherwood Field #2 and b) would be looking for a big of revenge. Very serious these lads are. So, off we go!

(I'll skip to the end bit as I'm trying to get caught up on the Olympics). 2-nil was the final score as Krajina proved they needed only a couple of looks at the net to finish the job. The first goal I got fingers to, diving full stretch to my right, only to claw it off the post and in. The second, in the second half, was the result of us pushing hard at the other end of the pitch for the equalizer. A quick counterattack and that was that.

So I'm not sure where that leaves us in the table as the people running the Saltfleet website are hopeless at keeping the bloody thing up to date. My best guess is that we're running third with only one more game to go before the playoffs start Sept 7th. Actually, we've still got the make up game (yet to be scheduled) for Celtic too. So we're still in with a chance.

Saltfleet United next weekend - the 7-1 thrashing we gave them last time out will likely not be sitting well with them either! Stay tuned...

Edit - Our last match v. Krajina was 3-3, not 1-1 and we've got SC Euro next weekend, not Saltfleet. My bad. Thanks to the eagle-eyed Simon Cowell lookalike that plays full back for us for pointing all that out. So helpful...
